On the evening of July 5th, Hong Kong media outlet The Standard reported that famous singer-songwriter Coco Lee has passed away at the age of 48. According to her sister, Coco Lee has been battling depression for the past few years, but her situation recently worsened.
On July 2nd, Coco Lee made a drastic choice at her residence, and was taken to the hospital in a coma. However, on July 5th, she passed away.
“Although Coco sought professional help and did her best to fight depression, sadly that demon inside of her took the better of her”, Coco Lee’s sister said.
The news of Coco Lee’s passing has shocked a lot of her fans from all over the world. Many couldn’t help but express disbelief and regrets, as well as send condolences to the bereaved family.
Meanwhile, Coco Lee, whose birth name is Ferren Lee, was born in 1975 in Hong Kong. However, she later moved to the United States, before being offered a recording contract in her hometown.
With her admirable figure and powerful vocals, Coco Lee used to took over Asia with her various hits, such as “It’s a Party”, “Before I Fall in Love”, “Just No Other Way”, and “A Love Before Time” – an OST for the hit movie “Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon”.
Coco Lee married businessman Bruce Rockowitz in 2011, but her marriage is said to be full of issues.
