Thai people chose Korea as a country which has a great influence on their culture

Thai citizens also cited “emotional content”, “familiarity”, and “appearance of handsome actors and beautiful actresses” as reasons for their preference for Korean media.
Adding to all this, the research team also emphasized the popularity of the ENA drama “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” in making viewers search for Woo Young Woo’s favorite gimbap, and the impact on consumption behavior of this drama.
In an interview with local media, Thai film producer Panu said, “The reason BTS and BLACKPINK succeeded in the US is not just because they dance in hanbok or play traditional Korean instruments, but because they reflect creativity that fits with popular culture.” He added that it is important to build a platform where both government support and the private sector can participate.
In the meantime, Thai people cited the U.S. (45%) as the country with the greatest influence on soft power in the world. China (27%), Korea (13%), Japan (8%), and the United Kingdom (6%) ranked in 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place, respectively.
