“Extraordinary Attorney Woo” ep 11 preview: Jokes you can use on a date with a lawyer

The pre-release video of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” ep 11 is drawing attention.

On August 3rd, the pre-release video of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” episode 11 is dropped and shows Woo Young Woo (Park Eun Bin), Dong Geurami (Joo Hyun Young), and the restaurant’s hairy boss Kim Min Sik (Lim Sung Jae) talking about jokes using wordplay related to law that can be used at a blind date with a lawyer.

Extraordinary Attorney Woo

After listening to the dad joke made by Kim Min Sik during his blind date with Choi Su Yeon (Ha Yoon Kyung), Woo Young Woo said, “Is this a joke using words with similar pronunciation? I think it’s fun.”

Dong Geurami said, “The problem was that he joked about food. You should have joked about law with a lawyer.” Dong Geurami then came up with a joke, saying, “Kimbap and sesame oil were fighting. Kimbap ended up getting caught by the police. Do you know why? Because sesame oil sued it / is savory.” Woo Young Woo found the joke fascinating because “sue” and “savory” in Korean have an identical pronunciation and spelling.

Following this momentum, Kim Min Sik told another joke, “When you roll the kimbap, you have to be careful not to let the kim (laver) burst. Otherwise, you will be charged with vandalism.”

Hearing this, Woo Young Woo thought deeply and then burst into laughter when she understood the joke. In this case, “the laver is damaged” has a similar pronunciation to “vandalism” in Korean.

Woo Young Woo fell in love with such dad jokes about law and cutely asked Dong Geurami and Kim Min Sik to teach her more.

Korean viewers who watched the video left comments:

  • I’m nervous that Young Woo is going to use these jokes for Jun Ho
  • Please don’t teach our Young Woo these strange things…
  • Young Woo, you can’t use dad jokes
  • I can hear the translator crying. How are you supposed to translate this?
  • I want to sue this video
