The production of Apple TV+’s original series “Pachinko” season 2 has recently been confirmed.
“Pachinko” executive producer Soo Hugh said, “I’m indescribably happy to be able to continue this special story of a family with strong vitality.” On overseas Hallyu drama and movie-related communities, posts about “Pachinko“, which chronicles the hopes and dreams of a Korean immigrant family across four generations as they leave their homeland in an indomitable quest to survive and thrive, are being uploaded as much as “Squid Game”.
Other countries also sympathize with Sunja’s story in “Pachinko“. In particular, people are sending opinions from countries that are made up of many immigrants or from Asia, which has a history of suffering Western oppression like Korea which experienced Japanese colonization.
“Pachinko“, which is based on the novel of the same name by Korean-American writer Lee Min-jin, contains the meaning of expanding Korea’s story to the world. In addition, it is a special achievement of “Pachinko” to approach the third party with a more delicate and objective perspective rather than simply the perpetrator-victim logic.
The lines are exchanged slowly, yet increase viewers’ immersion level. The main character Sunja (played by Jeon Yu-na, Kim Min-ha and Youn Yuh-jung) is both soft and strong. She has a strong sense of responsibility even in tough situations. These factors make people look forward to “Pachinko” season 2.
