EXO’s Kai and Red Velvet’s Wendy haven’t had a proper conversation despite 8-year sunbae-hoobae relationship

Artists from the same agency are likely to show off their close friendship, but not every artist is acquainted with each other because of their busy schedules.

EXO’s Kai and Red Velvet’s Wendy have been working at the same agency, SM Entertainment, for more than eight years, but have never had a proper conversation other than simple greetings. SBS PowerFM’s Wendy’s Young Street, which aired on the afternoon of December 2nd, featured EXO Kai, who recently made a comeback with his solo mini-album “Peaches.”

Kai and Wendy are seniors and juniors at SM Entertainment and are of the same age, so it’s understandable if they are close to each other. However, on the contrary, the two’s awkwardness at the show drew attention from fans.

It was revealed that the two idols have never spoken to each other other than “Hello,” “Thank you for your hard work,” and “Thank you for your cooperation.” Kai and Wendy even exchanged 90-degree bows. The two were being polite and eventually did formal greetings to each other.

Kai confessed, “I think it’s the first time we’ve spent more than 10 seconds in the same place. We’re from the same company, but we’re like very distant relatives.” Wendy also expressed her nervousness, saying that they would never get to talk like this if Kai did not appear on the show.

Kai called Wendy “Ms. Wendy” over and over again while Wendy politely called him “senior”. The two made fans burst into laughter by continuously praising each other and trying to get closer.

Meanwhile, Kai attracted attention by showing confidence in his new song “Peaches“. “Peaches” is a song that compares the romantic moments that a man spends with his beloved to peaches. It swept different album charts after being released. Kai announced that the new song’s music video exceeded 10 million views as well as proudly said he participated in the production of “Peaches“.
