EXO unveils new song “Let Me In”, shining harmony amidst of contract disputes

Despite an ongoing contract dispute with SM, EXO has begun their comeback by releasing “Let Me In”, an “EXO-style ballad”.

At 6PM (KST) on June 12th, EXO released the pre-release track “Let Me In” and its music video, as part of their upcoming full-length album, “Exist”.

It is known that EXO will officially come back with their new full-length album “Exist” on July 10th. This is their first album release since the special album “Don’t Fight the Feeling” in June 2021, and their first full-length album in 3 years and 8 months. after “Obsession”, which was released in November 2019.

On the other hand, “Let Me In” is a ballad song that combines dream sounds with vocals that express understated emotions. It features emotional lyrics, which compare a lover to the deep blue sea, expressing the desperate desire to be together endlessly, even if they fall deeply.

It is also a song that lives up to EXO’s reputation as a “vocal powerhouse”. The members’ vocals, which freely transition between high and low notes, as well as the charming melody, raise anticipation for the upcoming release of the new album.

The fact that Kai, who suddenly enlisted prior to the comeback, also participated in the song and MV, also pleased a lot of fans.

However, the timing of the conflict that started before the comeback is unfortunate. Previously, EXO members Chen, Baekhyun, and Xiumin have notified SM Entertainment (hereinafter referred to as SM) of their intent to terminate their exclusive contracts, claiming issues such as non-provision of settlement data and forced slave contracts, leading to a full-fledged dispute.

In this situation, it is regrettable for the perfect harmony of EXO, who boasts the slogan “We are one” both in and outside of their songs.
