EXID’s Hani Recalls Her Idol Days, “I Went Directly To Meet Investors & Complained About Unfair Treatments”
Actress and EXID member Hani talked about how she got rid of unfair treatments during the time she was doing idol activities
Appearing on the April 9th broadcast of SBS’s “Strong Heart VS”, Hani revealed her current weight and shared various stories, such as getting first place in school and the reason she wrote a Death Note.
When asked, “You’re famous as a ‘body genius’. Are you not dieting these days?”, Hani replied, “It’s not that I’m not dieting at all. I think I’ve been dieting in a more relaxed way compared to before”.
Revealing her height and weight as 168cm and 58kg, Hani honestly confessed that she used to be obsessed with taking care of her body. She said, “During my idol days, I weighed about 50kg. I was underweight back then and it wasn’t healthy at all”, adding “My body was ‘good’ but it had problems. Now, it’s ‘not bad’ but I’m fine with it. Actually, it’s my first time seeing my body like this but I feel okay. Nothing matters”.
In addition, Hani revealed that she always got first place during her school days. She shared, “While being a trainee at the age of 17, I was expelled from school. I felt so bad so I went to China to study abroad”. She continued, “The system in Chinese boarding schools was very strict. Calling was allowed only once a week. No going out and no internet”, adding “If you get first place in the test every week, you can go out and enjoy shopping. Or they’ll let you go on the Internet for an hour”.
Hani then said, “You have no motivation without goals. When I was in China, corn sausage was very popular. I really wanted to eat it so I studied hard. I set a goal, thinking ‘I must go out to buy it’. Since then, I kept getting first place”.
Later, Hani surprised everyone when she said she wrote a Death Note. The female singer-actress said, “When I debuted, the idol industry was not as developed as it is now. Back then, there were many unfair things. I felt like being treated as an object rather than a human, so I recorded all the unfair things”.
She added, “I wrote things like, ‘Manager oppa stormed into the house and took my phone’. I went to see the scariest people in the company. The investors. I took all the members and went to find the investors to have a talk”, adding “Since then, the company could no longer make unreasonable requests. Since then, my diary has been called ‘Death Note’”.
