Seungri, a former member of BIGBANG, will be released from prison in less than 100 days despite his endless list of criminal charges.
Former BIGBANG Seungri was discovered to have gambled approximately 2.2 billion won (approx 1.7 million won) from December 2013 to August 2017, according to the prosecution’s investigation. In addition, from February 2015 to January 2016, he arranged prostitution several times for Japanese, Hong Kong, and Taiwanese parties. The male celebrity also ran an unlicensed entertainment bar and embezzled funds from a club.
However, despite all these charges, Seungri was only sentenced to 1 year and 6 months in prison by the Supreme Court.
Seungri, who was indicted on January 30, 2020, enlisted a month later and was trialed in a military court. The first trial found Seungri guilty of most of the 9 charges against him, resulting in a 3 year imprisonment sentence. He was also ordered to pay over 1 billion won in fines.

When Seungri was found guilty of all nine charges up to the second trial, he appealed to the Supreme Court for re-examination, but his imprisonment sentence was upheld.
