ENHYPEN Jung-won’s apologized for his controversial CSAT-related broadcast accident: “I was too excited”

ENHYPEN Jung-won apologized for his rude remarks.

Earlier, Jung-won was criticized for making “rude remarks while referring to the College Scholastic Ability Test (hereinafter referred to as the CSAT) in a V LIVE video on Nov 18th. At the time, one member said, “There might be some fans who took the CSAT today coming tomorrow. It’s the day after the CSAT, so you can come after you did well on the CSAT.” However, Jung-won then said, “But if you came to the fan meeting the day after the CSAT, wouldn’t it mean you have failed it?” As the atmosphere became chilly, another member hurriedly said, “It’s okay to fail. You can be comforted here,” he said.

As netizens increasingly showed negative reactions, Jung-won posted an apology on the group’s fan community on November 19th. He said, “I am writing this because I have something to tell ENGENE (ENHYPEN’s fandom) before today’s fan meeting. I want to apologize for what I said on V LIVE yesterday, which showed my deep ignorance of the test takers’ feelings.”

The idol said, “I’m both nervous and excited to meet ENGENE in person ahead of the fan meeting, so I couldn’t understand the hearts of test takers who must have had a hard time for a long time. I felt that I was still very immature and lacking. I’m sorry,” adding “If there are people coming to today’s fan meeting, I will do my best so you can enjoy it with a good heart. In the future, I will try to be more careful and think deeper.”

ENHYPEN Jungwon’s official apology

Hello ENGENE. This is Jungwon. Before today’s fanmeeting begins, I have something to tell ENGENE so I am writing this letter. I want to apologize for the remark I made during yesterday’s V LIVE because I couldn’t understand the feelings of the test takers. Knowing that I would be able to meet ENGENE in person after a long time, I was too nervous and excited before the fanmeeting. Therefore, it seems like I failed to understand the hearts of the test takers who must have studied so hard. I could feel that I was still so immature and lacking. I’m sorry. I will try my best to make people who are coming to the fanmeeting today enjoy the show with a good heart. In the future, I will be more careful and think deeply before I talk.
