Rapper Dok2 (32, real name Lee Joon Kyung) and Jeon (63), actor Jang Geun Suk’s mother and Tree J Company’s CEO, were revealed as delinquent taxpayer and tax evader, respectively.
The two were included in the list of 6,940 defaulters of large amounts & habitual delinquent taxpayers and 47 tax evaders released by the National Tax Service through its website on Dec 15th.
It was confirmed that those subject to the disclosure of the list of defaulters of large amounts & habitual delinquent taxpayers are delinquent taxpayers with national taxes of more than 200 million won one year after the date of arrears. Dok2 owed 332 million won in taxes, including general income tax.
In addition, the National Tax Service released a list of 47 tax evaders whose annual tax evasion amount is more than the standard amount among those convicted of tax evasion from Jan 1st to Dec 31st, 2021, and Jeon was listed here.
Jeon was sentenced to two years and six months in prison (four years of probation) and a fine of 3 billion won after being judged to have transferred and concealed some of her corporate and personal income earned abroad to overseas financial accounts under her own name or someone else’s name. The amount of tax evaded is 1.855 billion won, including general income tax and corporate tax.
