According to Nielsen Korea, Doctor on the Edge premiered on June 1 with a nationwide rating of 4%, marking a solid debut for ENA’s Monday–Tuesday lineup.

The figure surpasses previous records set by its predecessor and represents one of the strongest opening ratings ever for the network’s weekday drama slot. The second episode, which aired on June 2, climbed even higher to 4.99%, approaching the 5% mark within just two episodes and signaling strong viewer engagement.

The drama follows the story of a rural public health doctor and a mysterious nurse working on a remote island called Pyeondong-do, where few people willingly choose to stay. As the two leads arrive under unexpected circumstances, they begin their professional journey amid emergencies, emotional patient stories, and gradually evolving trust.

Early episodes focus on their first encounters, clashes, and eventual cooperation as they work together to save lives while uncovering emotional wounds from their pasts.

While the drama’s storyline and pacing have received praise, much of the attention has centered on Shin Ye Eun’s performance. She plays nurse Yook Ha Ri, a character who balances warmth and emotional depth while hiding a more complex inner life. Shin’s portrayal has been praised for:
