“Doctor Cha” So A Rin, “‘National First Love’ Myung Se Bin cared for me like a real mother. She was worried when I received malicious comments”

Rookie actress So A Rin talked about her chemistry with senior actors in JTBC’s Sat-Sun drama “Doctor Cha”.

So A Rin recently had an interview with Sports Chosun at their office in Mokdong, Yangcheon, Seoul. During the interview, the actress shared, “I heard senior Myung Se Bin was named ‘National First Love’”, adding “She was worried that I might feel bad about malicious comments and took care of me like a real mother“.

So A Rin is currently starring in JTBC’s weekend drama “Doctor Cha” as Choi Eun Seo, the daughter of Choi Seung Hee (Myung Se Bin). In particular, Choi Eun Seo is Choi Seung Hee and Seo In Ho (Kim Byung Chul)’s child out of wedlock. Portraying Choi Eun Seo excellently, So A Rin is receiving favorable reviews from drama fans.

As such, many viewers are curious about the chemistry between So A Rin and senior actors Myung Se Bin as well as Kim Byung Chul. Regarding Myung Se Bin, who appeared as her on-screen mother, So A Rin said, “When I told my parents that I would be working with senior actress Myung Se Bin, they said she was named ‘National First Love’. I also looked up her previous dramas and commercials. The ‘I’m getting off this time’ CF left a strong impression on me. This advertisement was released before I was born, and senior Myung Se Bin looked so youthful and beautiful back then.”

Above all, So A Rin was touched by Myung Se Bin’s consideration. The young actress confessed, “I looked up information about senior Myung Se-bin before filming started, so I could feel a sense of connection with her. When I actually met her, she was so nice and our chemistry was great. Especially, she taught me many things. It’s easier for me to share my opinions with her. It might not be easy but she created a comfortable atmosphere and took care of me so well. She’s a very warm person.”

So A Rin also revealed that Myung Se Bin contacted her first because she was worried that the young actress would be upset by malicious comments. This was because there were scenes where Choi Eun Seo feels jealous of Seo In Ho’s daughter Seo Yi Rang so she reveals her birth secret. Some viewers criticized the unexpected action of the character Choi Eun Seo and also hated the actress.

“Not long ago, senior Myung Se Bin comforted me and told me not to be too upset. She said that she experienced such things and could handle them well, however, it’s natural for a rookie and a young person like me to feel sad because of malicious comments. She advised me not to overthink and assured me that I got her support. I was deeply moved at that moment. She was truly like a mother to me. I was so grateful that she took care of me even with things only my real mother would be worried about”, So A Rin said.

In the case of Kim Byung Chul, the rookie actress said, “He plays a bad person, but viewers can both hate and sympathize with his character. Of course, senior Kim Byung Chul is not a bad person. He is very kind and takes good care of everyone around him. He is also very playful and funny. That’s why it was always fun and comfortable being around him on the filming set. He made lots of jokes to make the shooting process more enjoyable and relaxed.”

Episodes 15 and 16 of JTBC’s Sat-Sun drama “Doctor Cha” will air at 10:30 p.m. on the 3rd and 4th of June.
