“Ditto” Yeo Jin-gu: “I usually play roles that are more mature than my age, honest with my feelings this time”

Actor Yeo Jin-gu expressed his feelings about playing a student from the school year 1995 despite being born in 1997.

Yeo Jin-gu said at a press conference for the movie “Ditto” (directed by Seo Eun-young) held at CGV Yongsan I’Park Mall in Yongsan-gu, Seoul on Oct 17th, “It was so much fun. As a person who loves movies of the 1990s and 2000s era in Korea, I was even upset that I didn’t get to experience those specific emotions at that time.”

“I wanted to experience the emotions of that era, and it was also an attraction to be able to become a student from the 1995 school year,” he said. “So far, I’ve been doing roles that are more mature compared to my age, and have mostly played roles that overcame all the pain and grew from that, but this time, I’m honest with the feeling of love like someone in their early 20s.” He added, “But love is not smooth,” adding, “I chose this role because the honesty I show in the process looked pure and pretty.”

Meanwhile, “Ditto” is a youth romance film about a story that happens when Yong (played by Yeo Jin-gu) in 1999 and Mu-nee (played by Cho Yi-hyun) in 2022 accidentally communicate through an old radio. A new sensibility is added to the old work of the same name, which was a representative of Korean romance films in the 2000s, and presented to the audience. The movie will be released on November 16th.
