Disney’s “Snow White” live action: Latina snow white and tall dwarfs

The release of on-set photos from Disney’s upcoming live-action film “Snow White” has caused a buzz.

On July 14th (local time), British media outlet The Daily Mail unveiled scenes from the filming of Disney’s live-action film “Snow White.”

The photos, taken in Bedfordshire, UK, captured Rachel Zegler, who plays Snow White, wearing a dress symbolizing Snow White and a red cloak, followed by the appearance of the seven dwarfs.

This is the first time the seven dwarfs in the live-action were revealed.

However, the appearance of the dwarfs, along with Rachel Zegler as Snow White, has puzzled the fans as it differs significantly from the original fairy tale.

In particular, all the original dwarfs were very short white men. However, the dwarfs from “Snow White” live-action displayed diversity in terms of gender, race, and height.

There were both short and tall actors, female actors, as well as actors of other races.

Previously, Disney received criticism for the dwarf characters from actor Peter Dinklage, who is famous for the drama series “Game of Thrones.”

According to Dinklage at the time, Disney only used actors with dwarfism for the seven dwarf characters. This is dangerous, considering that it will create another stereotype about people with dwarfism, criticized the actor.

As a result, Disney reevaluated the casting for the seven dwarfs.

However, fans who see Snow White and the 7 dwarfs from the recently released image have shown dissatisfaction, stating, “Snow White isn’t white, and there are tall dwarfs?!”

Meanwhile, Disney’s live-action film “Snow White” is said to focus on a “strong” Snow White who dreams of becoming a leader, rather than a charming prince.

The film, which features actress Rachel Zegler as Snow White and Gal Gadot as the wicked stepmother, is scheduled to be released in March 2024.
