In particular, a scene from “The Glory” Part 1, released in December last year, where Ha Do Yeong, a construction company CEO, talks to his driver in the rain, has caught the attention of many viewers.

On a rainy day, the driver asked Ha Do Yeong to hold the umbrella, saying that he forgot to bring the wine from the secretary’s office in the car. In response, Ha Do Yeong offered to give him the wine and encouraged him to drink it.

However, when the driver said he didn’t know much about wine and refused to drink it, Ha Do Yeong firmly suggested that he should drink a cheap bottle of wine first from a convenience store, as he would then appreciate the difference between the cheap and expensive wines.

Some viewers speculated that based on Ha Do Yeong’s cold gaze and demeanor, along with his nickname in the drama, “nice a**hole,” he had fired his driver.

Regarding this speculation, an interview with Jung Sung Il was released on March 24th, revealing the truth behind the scene.

Jung Sung Il explained, “The scene where I give wine to the driver was written exactly as I thought it should be portrayed.”

He went on to say, “I had the most worries about how to convey the meaning of a ‘nice a**hole.’ I didn’t treat the driver badly. In a way, I was being nice to him.

Jung Sung Il also clarified that Ha Do Yeong did not fire his driver, and that the driver appeared in Part 2 of “The Glory”.

When I acted in the scene, I leaned towards the ‘nice’ side. Of course, Ha Do Yeong might have felt bad when the driver asked him to hold the umbrella, but it didn’t mean he would fire him,” Jung Sung Il added.
