The news of BLACKPINK Jisoo and actor Ahn Bo-hyun parting ways after only two months of dating publicly shocked many people. Regarding the reason for the breakup, YG Entertainment explained, “They gradually grew apart due to busy schedules”.
“Busy schedules” is one of the common reasons celebrity couples use to explain their breakups. However, is it true in the case of Jisoo and Ahn Bo-hyun?

After publicizing their romantic relationship, Ahn Bo-hyun participated in many events, held a fanmeeting in Japan, and began filming his new project “Chaebol x Detective”. Jisoo also completed the last two encore shows of BLACKPINK’s world tour “BORN PINK” in Seoul last September and attended Paris Fashion Week at the end of that month. The BLACKPINK member uploaded on her SNS account photos taken during her vacation in Arles, France after finishing her Paris Fashion Week schedule. Meanwhile, Ahn Bo-hyun recently spent his free time hanging out with Kim Go-eun and Park Jin-young, his co-stars in “Yumi’s Cells”. Knowing Ahn Bo-hyun used to rearrange his personal schedule to his dates with Jisoo, netizens doubt the reason for their breakup even more.
Was the pressure from public opinion the real reason they decided to part ways?
Due to the nature of the K-pop industry, “dating” has always been a sensitive topic. BLACKPINK once revealed that former YG CEO Yang Hyun-suk did not allow the girls to meet male idols in their company and even banned dating during their debut days. It is called ‘fanservice’ because fans tend to consider idols their boyfriends or girlfriends.
