Dawn made his long-awaited return to television on the October 22 episodes of TVING’s hit reality dating show “EXchange 4.” The appearance marks his first broadcast since completing mandatory military service in July 2025.
During the episode, host Lee Yong Jin revealed that producers had tried to invite Dawn to the show earlier, to which the artist candidly replied, “ At that time, I wasn’t in the right place to appear on a program like this.”
When asked whether he would ever consider rekindling a relationship with an ex or starting something new, Dawn was straightforward:
“I’ve never contacted an ex. Even if they reach out, I don’t respond. I don’t think I could ever get back together with someone I’ve already broken up with.”
As the panel discussed the emotional challenges faced by the show’s participants, Lee Yong Jin commented on how difficult it must be for one contestant to watch her ex get close to another person. Fellow panelist Yura admitted, “ Honestly, I can’t even imagine what that would feel like.”
Turning to Dawn, the MC asked, “Can you imagine what it would feel like to see your ex with someone else?” Dawn laughed softly before admitting, “I think I can, actually. Yup… I think I can relate.”
Realizing the sensitivity of the topic, Lee Yong Jin quickly added, “Right… I’m sorry I asked,” drawing laughter from the panel.
Fans online couldn’t help but link the moment to Dawn’s well-known past relationship with HyunA, which lasted from 2016 to 2022. After their breakup, HyunA went public with her relationship with Yong Junhyung in January 2024, and the couple tied the knot in October of that same year.
