On January 11, the nonprofit organization YANA (You Are Not Alone) announced that Danielle had donated 302 million KRW (approx. 230,000 USD) to support marginalized youth in need of social protection.

YANA is a non-governmental organization that provides aid to children in welfare facilities, single-parent families, and young people preparing for independent living individuals who often fall through the cracks of the social safety net. Danielle’s generous contribution was praised as a meaningful gesture of goodwill amid ongoing personal and professional challenges.

Inspired by Danielle’s donation, some fans also shared proof of their own charitable contributions on social media, saying they were moved by her actions and wanted to support the cause.

NewJeans Danielle: "So adorable"

This is not the first time Danielle has given back. In June 2024, she and her then NewJeans teammates donated all their university festival earnings to the Korea Student Aid Foundation, to help low-income college students with housing and living expenses. At the time, the group stated, “We wanted to give back the love we received to students who need support.”

Later that year, in December, Danielle made another significant donation of 100 million KRW under the name of the Bunnies fandom, aimed at assisting children and youth caring for family members.

Currently, Danielle is facing a legal dispute with ADOR, NewJeans’ agency, after being removed from the group. On December 29, 2025, ADOR issued an official statement notifying Danielle of her contract termination, citing her family member and former CEO Min Hee-jin’s alleged responsibility for the team’s disruption and delay in NewJeans’ return. ADOR also indicated it would pursue legal action against Danielle’s family and former CEO Min Hee-jin.

Despite the legal battle, Danielle broke her silence through an Instagram Live broadcast on January 12, emotionally expressing, “Part of my heart will always be with NewJeans. I fought to stay with the members until the very end. Even if we’re in different places now, I hope we can still remain one family.”
