On June 25, Daesung‘s YouTube channel Zip Daesung released a teaser video titled “I’ll Reveal Everything.”
In the preview, the BIGBANG singer addressed the dating rumors involving KARA’s Heo Youngji, sharing an unexpected behind-the-scenes story about how the situation unfolded. “I went on Naver and saw that R&D Company had already released an official statement,” Daesung said.
He jokingly questioned the process behind the announcement, adding, “Normally, if you’re going to verify the facts and release an official statement, shouldn’t you ask me first?” He continued with a laugh, “My agency never even told me, ‘No, you’re not dating her.'” His lighthearted remarks amused viewers while hinting that he would personally explain the situation in greater detail.
After checking whether the cameras were rolling, Daesung teased, “This is real,” suggesting that he plans to give his own full account in an upcoming episode.
The dating speculation first emerged after photos and videos circulated across social media and online communities showing Daesung and Heo Youngji attending MAMAMOO’s concert together. The pair were seen sitting side by side in the audience, chatting while holding official light sticks, leading some fans to speculate that they were romantically involved. The rumors gained further traction when fans resurfaced an old broadcast in which fellow BIGBANG member Taeyang jokingly commented that Daesung and Heo Young Ji “look good together.”
However, reports later noted that OH MY GIRL member Hyojung had also attended the concert with them. Because only selected photos and video clips spread online, many believed the situation had been taken out of context, fueling unnecessary speculation.
On June 22, Daesung’s agency R&D Company officially denied the dating rumors. The agency explained that Daesung and Heo Youngji became friends through Daesung’s YouTube program Zip Daesung and stated: “It is true that they attended the MAMAMOO concert together, but they are simply close colleagues. The dating rumors are not true.”
With Daesung now preparing to personally address the issue, fans are eager to hear his full explanation in the upcoming episode of Zip Daesung.
