Choi Si Won won “New Wave Award (Actor)” and “Best Acting Performance” at the 2022 Asia Artist Awards.
Choi Si Won attended the 2022 Asia Artist Awards IN JAPAN (2022 Asia Artist Awards, hereinafter referred to as 2022 AAA) held on Dec 13th.
Choi Si Won, who became the co-winner of “New Wave Award (Actor)” along with singer-actor Hwang Min Hyun, said, “Thank you so much. I’m happy and glad to meet many people at this face-to-face awards ceremony after 3 years. I’m happy and honored to be with seniors and juniors I respect.“
Choi Si Won, who has been working as an actor and a Super Junior member this year, played the main character Park Jae Hoon in the recently ended ENA drama “Love Is for Suckers”. He presented a passionate performance like a “rom-com master” by perfectly digesting his character with romantic eyes and a heavy voice tone.
In addition, Choi Si Won is raising viewers’ expectations by delivering the news that he appeared as Kang Book Goo in “Work Later, Drink Now 2“, which was first released on Dec 9th.
In particular, Choi Siwon received favorable reviews for his unique comic acting by portraying various situations and delivering iconic lines in the web-series “Work Later, Drink Now” which drew a lot of attention last year. As a result, expectations are higher than ever for his appearance in the 2nd season of this hit K-drama.
On the other hand, as Choi Siwon shines with his talents in acting and singing, attention is also being paid to one of his past anecdotes.
In particular, it is known that Choi Siwon was able to become a celebrity after being street-casted. “I was waiting for a friend in front of Gyeonggi High School in 2002 when a casting manager from SM Entertainment approached me”, the idol-actor revealed.
Afterwards, he not only practiced dancing, singing, and acting at SM for two years, but also acquired some Chinese skills through language training at a middle school affiliated with a University in Beijing.
Regarding his time in China, Choi Siwon confessed to a surprising anecdote, saying, “People have been saying that I look like senior Kangta since I was in 4th grade of elementary school, so I pretended to be his cousin in China.”
Attention is being focused on what kind of performance Choi Siwon, who debuted as a member of the representative boy group Super Junior, will show in “Work Later, Drink Now Season 2”.
