Current status of actor who gave up on his dream of becoming doctor and passed “Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment” after a month
Jung Hae In’s original dream was not to become an actor. He fell in love with living things after going to see a real body exhibition during his school days.
Jung Hae In planned to major in biotechnology under the influence of his parents, who are doctors, but one incident changed his fate.
Jung Hae In happened to receive the contact information of an agency official while heading to COEX with his friends after the CSAT. Jung Hae In later attended an acting academy for a month before finally passing the Pyeongtaek University’s Department of Broadcasting and Entertainment.
Jung Hae In once mentioned in an interview in the past, “I was very chubby during middle and high school days.” Even when he was in the military, he gained 12kg in a short period of time as his appetite grew, such as eating an entire box of Choco Pie on the spot.
He said that he went on a strict diet with the mindset “If I can’t do this, I won’t act“. He controlled his diet, jumped rope thousands of times a day and exercised.
Before his official debut, Jung Hae In appeared in AOA’s “MOYA” music video in 2013. A year later, he made his debut in TV Chosun’s drama “Bride of the Century”.
His name began to be known to the public after he made a special appearance in tvN’s “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” in 2016.
After that, he played the role of Captain Yoo Jeong Woo in tvN’s drama “Prison Playbook” in 2017. Although it was a supporting role, his expressions and emotional acting were well received by viewers.
In 2018, he played the main character Seo Joon Hee in JTBC’s drama “Something in the Rain”. His recognition level soared along with his co-star Son Ye Jin.
He gained greater recognition after starring in MBC’s “One Spring Night”, JTBC’s “Snowdrop” and Netflix’s “D.P.” one after another.
