Back in 2020, Jane Wang and Vicky Wei appeared on the Chinese survival show “Youth With You” as trainees under the label Shining Star Culture – the Chinese branch of YG Entertainment.
While on the show, the two were introduced as pre-debut members of YG’s upcoming girl group, which is later revealed to be none other than BABYMONSTER. However, it was not stated whether Jane Wang and Vicky Wei decided to leave, or if they did not make it to the final lineup of BABYMONSTER.
In addition, a footage from “Introducing BABYMONSTER” also shows 3 trainees who ended up not making it to the final lineup, raising suspicions about Jane Wang and Vicky Wei being among them.
On the other hand, after failing to debut in the final Top 9 of “Youth With You”, Vicky Wei left Shining Star Culture in 2023. She later debuted as a member of girl group UNIVU, this time using her real name Wei Chen.
Meanwhile, Jane Wang was also rumored to have left YG’s Chinese branch, and was notably active on Instagram. However, since December 2022, she hasn’t been updating, rousing curiosity about her current situation.
