Actress Park Eun-bin was criticized by some netizens after she asked people to refrain from parodying ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo”.
On August 24th, News1 released the interview conducted with Park Eun-bin, a key player of ENA’s “Extraordinary Attorney Woo“.
As the drama gained huge popularity, videos of parodying Woo Young-woo were uploaded online, and Park Eun-bin was well aware of this.
Park Eun-bin said, “Personally, when I was playing Young-woo, I thought carefully and didn’t take it lightly, so I want Woo Young-woo to exist only in the drama’s worldview.”
She added, “I want to believe that those who parodied Young-woo didn’t mean to disparage her. However, there may be reactions that are different from their own intentions. Unlike your intentions, parodies that imitate appearance and tone can hurt others, so I sincerely ask you to refrain from doing this.”
Park Eun-bin seems to have made such remarks for fear that the people doing parodies may hurt someone even if they are not malicious.
However, some netizens reacted coldly to Park Eun-bin’s remarks.
Netizens were disappointed, saying, “If that’s the logic, we should oppose the remake of American dramas.”
Some people strongly criticized, “It’s okay for her to act and not for others to do it, right?”
On the other hand, many showed respect for Park Eun-bin’s remarks, “I don’t understand the people who get angry without understanding the overall context.”
Meanwhile, Park Eun-bin talked about season 2 of “Extraordinary Attorney Woo” in a slightly different way from other actors.
Park Eun-bin said, “I personally think that since the drama has been loved by so many people, I’ll need to have a much greater determination than when I first joined ‘Extraordinary Attorney Woo’ in order to meet the expectations. In addition, I feel like we’ve wrapped it up well in a treasure box now, and if we have to open it again, I’m a little worried that the beautiful crystals in it will be damaged.”
