RM, the leader of BTS, celebrated the silver medal in the short-track speed skating relay of South Korean women’s national team.
On Feb 13th, RM watched the live broadcast of the women’s 3000m relay final at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, filmed a video, and posted it on his SNS account.
With Choi Min-jung, Kim A-rang, Lee Yoo-bin, and Seo Hwi-min participating as South Korea’s national team athletes, they came in second after the Netherlands and finally won the silver medal.
In response, RM wrote “cool” and sent his messages of encouragement, support and congratulation to the athletes along with a video showing Choi Min-jung, the last runner, hugging and rejoicing with the coach after crossing the finish line. In particular, Lee Yoo-bin said she was a fan of BTS, which made this celebration even more meaningful.
RM has been watching the Beijing Olympics more diligently than anyone else. Earlier, after seeing short-track speed skating national athletes Hwang Dae-heon and Lee Joon-seo being disqualified for dubious reasons in the men’s 1000m semifinals, and athlete Park Jang-hyuk being injured and abstained, RM has posted words of encouragement on his SNS.
The clip RM posted on his Instagram Stories shows South Korean athlete Hwang Dae-heon overtaking two Chinese athletes in the semifinals at the time, but was then disqualified, and encouraged him with applause and thumbs up hand emoticons. After that, some Chinese netizens flocked to BTS‘s official SNS account and started terrorizing him with malicious comments.
After that, RM also posted an image of the men’s 1500m short track final and left a short message writen “Respest“. In this match, Hwang Dae-heon won the gold medal.
