BTS (RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook) will not appear on the 2021 MAMA stage.
On December 2nd, CJ ENM told EXPO, “While discussing their appearance at the 2021 MAMA with BTS, the group decided not to show up.”
They continued, “It’s hard to make a performance video due to their busy schedule, but we are preparing a short video for fans.”
According to reports in the music industry, the government has decided that all Koreans and foreigners have to be quarantined for 10 days regardless of whether they are vaccinated or not for 2 weeks, starting from December 3rd.
Therefore, BTS members, who are currently staying in the U.S, will also have to go through 10 days of self-quarantine after returning to Korea. BTS is scheduled to participate in the 2021 Jingle Ball Tour, a year-end tour hosted by iHeartRadio in the U.S, on December 3rd. As a result, there was a high possibility that BTS would not be able to attend the 2021 MAMA on the 11th even if they returned to Korea immediately after that event. Eventually, BTS decided to be absent from the 2021 MAMA lineup.
Meanwhile, the 2021 MAMA will be held at CJ ENM Content Studio in Paju, Gyeonggi Province, at 6 P.M on December 11th.
