Actress Chun Woo Hee made a surprise confession about her drinking capacity.
Chun Woo Hee appeared as a special MC on SBS’ entertainment program “My Little Old Boy”.
Heo Kyung Hwan’s mother said that she watched the movie “Sunny” starring Chun Woo Hee three times and praised Chun Woo Hee’s acting, “I thought she acted after drinking.”
Chun Woo Hee was surprised, saying, “You watched it more than I did.” She then explained, “I filmed it soberly without drinking a drop of alcohol.“
Chun Woo Hee confessed that she is a heavy drinker, adding, “I don’t usually get drunk at get-togethers, and I’ve never passed out.“
Chun Woo Hee then frankly confessed, “I don’t like alcohol, but I don’t get drunk easily.“
When asked by Shin Dong Yup about her drinking capacity when she drank the most, Chun Woo Hee surprised everyone by answering, “I don’t count. I’m not even picky about the kinds of alcohol.“
Chun Woo Hee revealed a funny episode caused by her inborn drinking capacity. She explained, “I drank with a male senior whom I had a crush on during college days. I drank a lot, but I didn’t get drunk no matter how much I drank. In the end, the senior got drunk first and said, ‘I’ll go first, then.’ I brightly replied, ‘Please go first.’“
Chun Woo Hee, who suffered a slump due to the strong character of “Sunny”, recalled, “During the filming of ‘Sunny’, director Kang Hyeong Cheol told me, ‘You are my pride.’ I didn’t know at first, but after the movie became a box office hit, director Kang said, ‘What did I say? I said ‘You are my pride’, right?’ What he said tugged at my heart.”
At that time, everyone praised Chun Woo Hee’s potential and said “You’ll land on your feet in the future“, but she suffered a slump for about 2 years after “Sunny”.
Regarding this, she confessed, “After ‘Sunny’, people around me had high expectations. I tried not to get excited, but I got excited without realizing it. I had a desire to do better.”
Afterwards, Chun Woo Hee was offered female lead positions in various works such as “Voice”, “Fight for My Way”, “Distorted” and “The Third Charm”, but it was surprising that she did not appear in all of them.
Chun Woo Hee got her first lead role in the movie “Han Gong-ju” (2014). After that, she appeared in the movies “Love, Lies” (2016), “The Wailing” (2016), “Vertigo” (2019), “Waiting for Rain” (2021), “Anchor” (2022) and the dramas “Argon”, “Be Melodramatic”.
