Chun Woo-hee has once again proven her acting power, earning positive reactions from viewers for her role in JTBC’s new Friday drama My Youth.
The series, which premiered on September 5, follows the story of Seong Jae-yeon (Chun Wo-hHee), a team manager at a top entertainment agency. She reunites with her high school first love, former child star now florist-owner portrayed by Song Joong-ki, sparking both romance and reflections on forgotten dreams.

Chun Woo-hee’s character becomes the key connection between Song Joong-ki’s hidden-away character and the entertainment industry, as she is tasked with persuading him to return to the spotlight. In one standout moment, she boldly arranges a meeting after learning that a veteran producer’s daughter is his fan — showing her “fearless” determination as a manager.
Viewers have praised Chun Woo-hee’s nuanced performance, noting her ability to balance intensity and calmness, making her portrayal relatable to everyday office workers. Some fans are also highlighting her growing synergy with JTBC, recalling her acclaimed performance in Be Melodramatic (2019), which has remained beloved as a “well-made rom-com,” and her global success in Not a Hero, But… last year.

With My Youth, Chun Woo-hee shifts to a more traditional romance, raising expectations that it could become another signature work in her career.
At the drama’s press conference, Chun Woo-hee expressed gratitude for her past success and confidence in this new project: “Be Melodramatic has continued to gain love even years later. This time, working on a classic romance, I realized, ‘Why haven’t I done melodramas sooner?’ It feels like my true genre.”

Her reunion with Song Joong-ki after nearly nine years away from romance dramas also drew attention. Chun Woo-hee said: “From the start, our ‘face chemistry’ matched well. He always pays attention to the details on set, asking for my thoughts and being considerate. We reviewed scenes together carefully, digging into emotions with precision. I felt I could trust him fully — please look forward to not just our visual chemistry, but also our acting harmony.”
With its star-studded cast and heartfelt storyline, My Youth is shaping up to be one of JTBC’s most talked-about dramas of the year, with Chun Woo-hee at the center of its charm.
