Actor Choi Woo-sik was praised by actor Gong Yoo after “Our Beloved Summer.”
On Jan 26th, Choi Woo-sik‘s agency Management Forest uploaded on its official YouTube channel a video titled “The last shoot of ‘Our Beloved Summer’! And a complaint to Choi Wooshik? | ‘Our Beloved Summer’ Making Film”. The video showed Choi Woo-sik during the filming for “Our Beloved Summer.” Choi Woo-sik focused on rehearsing while coordinating his lines with Kim Da-mi and discussing with the director.
In the meantime, actor Jung Yu-mi secretly visited the filming site. She came to the last filming site of “Our Beloved Summer,” saying, “I wanted to surprise you”. Choi Woo-sik, who came to warm up for a while in the sub-zero weather, was surprised to find Jung Yu-mi and quarreled with her like real siblings. Then Choi Woo-sik put his earplugs on Jung Yu-mi and gave off a sweet charm. Soon after, however, Choi Woo-sik took back his earplugs and use them, drawing laughter.
After all the filming, Choi Woo-sik took a group photo with the “Our Beloved Summer” team and also took a selfie with Jung Yu-mi, who waited until the filming ended. Afterward, Choi Woo-sik said, “It was a really fun and happy journey, but it hasn’t hit me yet that the filming is finally over after four or five months. I feel good, bitter, and very strange. I was really happy playing Go Oh and Choi Woong,” he said adding, “I’m saying goodbye quickly to let Choi Woong go well.”
At that time, Choi Woo-sik suddenly received a complaint. Confused, Choi Woo-sik began to read the complaint which said, “I’m suing him for insults, so please punish him.” He then burst into laughter when he saw the complaint’s content that accused him of “Pretending to change the channel’s header then draw a drawing of Gong Yoo.”
Choi Woo-sik said, “That was not my intention. I think the drawing that I thought was funny is causing a big stir, I apologize sincerely. I’m sorry. Please forgive me once,” he apologized. Choi Woo-sik asked Jung Yu-mi, “You saw the new banner, right? You liked it, right?” Jung Yu-mi replied, “I thought I got kicked out of the company. I couldn’t find myself anywhere.” Upon hearing this, Choi Woo-sik made everyone burst into laughter by brazenly responding, “Everyone can tell it’s you. Everyone agrees that’s Gong Yoo.”
Afterward, the staff showed Choi Woo-sik a video letter sent to him by Gong Yoo himself. Gong Yoo said, “I heard that today is your last filming session. I know you had a lot of concerns about the drama and wanted to do better as an actor. You shared your thoughts with me. You thought very hard about the character. I know all about this better than anyone. It feels like it was only yesterday when you came to me and confessed your feelings to me, but it’s already over now.”
He praised and cheered for Choi Woo-sik as a fellow actor and older brother, “Great job to you for filming outdoors in the cold weather. When I think of you, I always knew that you are a great actor. But again this time, watching this drama made me realize again that Woo-sik, you really are an amazing actor. I could really tell that you put a lot of your thoughts and effort into this work. So, as a colleague and friend, you made me feel very pleased and proud of you.” He added, “Great job, you should now feel relieved and have a good sleep. See you soon. We’ll talk more about the drawing when we meet.”
After watching the video letter, Choi Woo-sik shared, “I thought he was going to sound funny, but he sounded very sincere. That’s why I felt a bit confused.” He then kept replaying the part that Gong Yoo praised him. Choi Woo-sik greeted Gong Yoo, “Thank you so much for sending me this message. About that dinosaur, I’ll explain when we meet again. Thank you, Gong Yoo. That message almost made me cry. Sorry. Thank you.”
