Choi Soo Young: “First filming after staying up all night for Girls’ Generation’s activities, but I got the energy”

Choi Soo Young expressed her feelings about filming while promoting with Girls’ Generation.

On Nov 17th, MBC’s new four-part Friday-Saturday drama “Fanletter Please” held a production presentation at MBC Golden Mouse Hall in Mapo-gu, Seoul. Director Jung Sang-hee, actors Choi Soo Young and Yoon Park attended the event.

“Fanletter Please” is a romantic comedy-drama about a top celebrity in South Korea, who faces her biggest crisis after accidentally receiving a fake fan letter sent by the father of a sick daughter in order to fulfill her wishes.

Choi Soo Young, who plays top star Han Kang Hee, said about her character, “She has a specific phobia of certain objects due to trauma after receiving fan letters from her antifans in high school. She is an actress who endured loneliness and lives silently.

(This drama) was challenging and there were many things that I could relate to while filming it. Above all, Yeon Woo, who plays Yu Na, is so cute that I think I received a lot of warm and cozy energy from her whenever I went to the scene,” she added.

The actors then had time to read letters sent by their fans. Choi Soo Young said, “I really like reading fan letters. I get them every time I meet my fans at work or offline events, but I read them one by one at different times as if eating chocolate. Whenever I see fan letters, I’m rather touched. Thank you so much and I hope you send me a lot in the future.

Choi Sooyoung has been walking the path of a top star, working tirelessly as a member of Girls’ Generation and as an actress. She also made a comeback to the music scene with the members and met her fans on the 15th anniversary of Girls’ Generation’s debut.

Choi Soo Young said, “We started filming ‘Fan Letter Please’ at the same time as Girls’ Generation’s 15th-anniversary activities started. It was the first filming on the day we stayed up all night for a music show. I think we gathered here for the best results. That’s why I tried to do it with more energy than usual and I think I took care of my physical strength more.

She continued, “I gained more energy from Girls’ Generation’s activities. Listening to the cheers of the fans gave me a feeling of receiving unprecedented energy. I think they played a part in creating an environment where Kang Hee could shine a little more.

Meanwhile, “Fan Letter Please” will premiere at 9:50 pm KST on November 18th.
