According to the Integrated Computer Network of the Korean Film Council as of 7 AM on Feb 26th, “Exhuma” achieved first place at the overall box office, drawing 1,963,554 viewers from the opening weekend from Feb 23rd (Friday) to Feb 25th (Sunday), accumulating a total of 2,299,706 viewers and creating a sensation in theaters.

Despite being released on Thursday, “Exhuma” surpassed the weekend score of the highest-grossing film of 2023, “Seoul Spring”, which attracted 1,494,226 viewers in the opening weekend and accumulated 1,877,123 viewers. This once again proves the power of K-occult.

“Exhuma” not only set a new record for the highest opening score in 2024 but also surpassed 1 million and 2 million viewers in the shortest period. On Feb 24th (Saturday), it attracted 770,925 viewers, and on Feb 25th (Sunday), it attracted 818,130 viewers, setting the record for the highest daily number of viewers in 2024 and continuing its unstoppable success.

Moreover, “Exhuma” maintained a CGV Golden EGG Index of 95% (as of 7 AM on Feb 26th), firmly establishing itself as a new powerhouse in the Korean film industry.

“Exhuma” tells a strange story that occurs to a feng shui, a funeral director and a shaman who are paid to relocate a tomb. Actors Choi Min-sik, Yoo Hae-jin, Kim Go-eun and Lee Do-hyun appeared in the film.
