On March 15, the production team of the tvN variety show You Quiz on the Block uploaded a preview clip with the caption, “Kang Nora from Undercover Miss Hong! Actress Choi Ji Soo is coming to You Quiz.”
In the video, Choi Ji Soo who recently gained attention for playing the chaebol heiress Kang Nora in the tvN drama Undercover Miss Hong appears on the show and opens up about the many part-time jobs she has taken and the reality of her daily life.
During the episode, host Yoo Jae Suk asked her, “I heard that in real life you’re basically the queen of part-time jobs. People say there’s almost no job you haven’t tried.” In response, Choi Ji Soo shared that she has worked various jobs, including mascot costume work, jobs at logistics centers, and restaurants. She added that she is still working part-time now, saying, “I even have work tomorrow. I work part-time six days a week and use my one day off to go to auditions,” surprising everyone on set.
When Yoo Jae Suk asked what her parents thought about her situation, Choi Ji Soo immediately became emotional. She revealed that the reason she started working factory jobs was to pay off her student loans. Sharing a heartfelt story, she said her mother cried a lot when she saw her working at the factory.
Choi Ji Soo then delivered a video message to her mother, expressing her gratitude. She said, “Even when everyone else said it wouldn’t work out, thank you so much for supporting my dream.” As she spoke, she eventually broke down in tears, moving viewers with her sincere appreciation for her family and her determination to pursue her dream.
Meanwhile, episode 335 of You Quiz on the Block, which will air on March 18 at 8:45 PM, will feature several notable guests. Among them are Yerin Ha, the Korean-Australian lead of Bridgerton Season 4 and granddaughter of veteran actress Son Sook; acclaimed actress Yeom Hye Ran, known for delivering powerful performances in every project; Choi Ji Soo, who played a wealthy heiress on screen but works as a “professional part-timer” in real life; and short track speed skating legend Choi Min Jeong, who will appear alongside her mother on television for the first time.
