Shakespeare in Love

“Shakespeare in Love” is a play based on a 1998 film of the same name. Starting with the impertinent imagination that “Romeo and Juliet” was created based on the romance of the author when he was young, the play “Shakespeare in Love” tells the story set in London 1593 of William Shakespeare, a young man and promising new writer, falling in love with Viola, daughter of a nobleman who comes to a theater audition dressed as a man.

Jung Moon Sung said, “I am really excited and happy to play Shakespeare, the writer I admired the most.”

Lee Sang Yi said, “I thought it was such a good work when I saw it for the first time as a movie when I was in school and watched it several times. It’s an honor to be a part of it.”

Kim Sung Chul said, “I’m even more nervous because it’s been a while since I’ve starred in a play. As this is my first work in Korea, I’ll prepare hard and show you a fun performance.”

Chae Soo Bin said, “I am excited and grateful to stand on the stage for the first time in a long time. It’s a new challenge to meet the audience through a large theater performance.”

Jung So Min received favorable reviews for her unique charms in the recently released movie “Project Wolf Hunting”, while Chae Soo Bin’s new work – the Netflix series “The Fabulous” is about to be released. Jung Moon Sung also appeared in “Project Wolf Hunting” and performed on the stage of the musical “The Hymn of Death” last month. In addition, Lee Sang Yi played a leading role in the drama “Hometown Cha Cha Cha” last year. Attention is focused on what appearances these actors will present on the stage of the play “Shakespeare in Love”.

The original film “Shakespeare in Love” swept seven categories at the 71st Academy Awards (1999), including Best Picture, Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Screenplay, Best Score, Art and Costume.

In the same year, it was recognized at the world’s leading awards ceremonies, including 4 Golden Globe Awards, 4 British Academy Film Awards, and the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival.
