During the April 26 broadcast of the SBS variety show My Little Old Boy, actor Cha Tae Hyun appeared as a special MC and brought up Kim Jong Kook’s wedding.
While discussing his longtime friend, Cha Tae Hyun admitted that the marriage still feels hard to believe. He humorously explained that although he attended the ceremony, everything about it seemed almost staged.
“I only went to the wedding, and it felt like being on a set,” he said. “I haven’t even visited their newlywed home yet, so I won’t fully believe it until I see it for myself.”
His comment quickly resonated with the panel, as the mothers on the show agreed with him, sharing that they felt similarly. Cha Tae Hyun responded playfully, “Right? It’s like the whole country is dreaming.”
Kim Jong Kook, who reportedly tied the knot last year with a non-celebrity, has now been married for about seven months. However, Cha Tae Hyun pointed out that there hasn’t been a housewarming gathering yet—something that only adds to his skepticism.
“There hasn’t been any housewarming at all, so I still can’t quite believe it,” he joked, before adding that recent buzz suggests the couple is already thinking about having children.
Even so, Cha Tae Hyun ended his remarks on a lighthearted note, laughing as he said he’s still not fully convinced.
Kim Jong Kook previously made headlines in September 2025 when news broke that he had held a private wedding ceremony, keeping details about his spouse largely out of the public eye.
