Singer and actor Cha Eun-woo has been recognized as a “Global Icon” at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards Japan (MTV VMAJ 2023)
On November 22, Cha Eun-woo attended the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards Japan (MTV VMAJ 2023), which was held in Yokohama, Japan, and received the “Global Icon Award”.
Being the first Asian artist to receive the “Global Icon Award” at this awards ceremony, Cha Eun-woo expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to Aroha’s (fandom name of his group, ASTRO) many cheers and love, I was able to receive this precious award. I will show a wonderful appearance that can repay your support.”
Following the award, Cha Eun-woo illuminated the ceremony with a special stage. He rearranged ASTRO’s 2021 Japanese single, “Let’s Say Goodbye to the Person You Like Most” (tentative translation), delivering deep emotions with his unique sweet voice to the fans in attendance.
Meanwhile, Cha Eun-woo has been actively engaging in various activities both domestically and internationally, and successfully hosted the solo fan meeting tour “2022 Just One – 10 Minute Starry Caravan” in five Asian countries, including Korea and Japan, attracting around 50,000 global audiences.
By winning the “Global Icon Award” at the MTV VMAJ 2023, Cha Eun-woo once again proved his distinctive global influence. He will continue to communicate with fans through various activities, including the release of the photo book “Cha Eun-woo (ASTRO) 2023 OFFICIAL PHOTO BOOK”, which was shot in LA, on December 28.
