Cha Eun-woo showed confidence in his solo song, which will be released in ASTRO’s comeback album.
“Drive to the Starry Road” consists of 5 group songs, including the title “Candy Sugar Pop”, and solo tracks – MJ’s “Story”, JinJin’s “All Day”, Cha Eun-woo’s “First Love”, Moon Bin’s “Let’s go ride”, Rocky’s “S#1”, and Yoon San-ha’s “24 Hours”. It tells stories about the youth of six members as well as their past, present, and future with fans.
On this day, Cha Eun-woo selected solo songs as what makes this album different from their previous ones. He confidently said, “The album this time contains solo tracks of all members”, adding, “You can see each member’s color well when listening to the songs. We also participated in composing, writing lyrics, and rap making so please look forward to them.”
Regarding the reason why solo songs of all members are included in this album, Rocky explained, “ASTRO is already in the 7th year. We have also been working hard on writing and composing songs”, adding, “Now that we have gained enough confidence to take full responsibility for our own song, we decided to put solo tracks in the album”
He added, “I worked on ‘S#1’ and tried to deliver my story into the lyrics. I put the sound of a projector, into this song and created lyrics that are like movie lines and narrations. I focused on that part because I wanted to give listeners the feeling of being immersed in a movie when listening to my song.”
In addition, Cha Eun-woo, who joined the production of his solo song “First Love”, said, “When I first listened to the demo, I could immediately feel the fresh vibe and excitement. I believed it would suit the theme of ‘first love’. I wanted to make it a catchy song”. He also conveyed his wish, saying, “I tried to make a song that we can hum together. I would feel so thankful if everyone enjoy it”.
“Candy Sugar Pop”, the title track of ASTRO’s third full album “Drive to the Starry Road”, is a bright and refreshing pop dance song that has a sweet mood. It will be released on various music sites at 6 p.m on the same day.
