Cha Eun Woo cried and said he has never truly opened up, raising concerns after Moonbin’s funeral
The funeral procession for the late Moonbin, a member of the boy group ASTRO, will be held privately today (April 22nd).
On the 21st, Fantagio, the agency to which ASTRO belongs, announced, “In accordance with the wishes of the bereaved family, the funeral and burial site will not be disclosed on the 22nd”. The company also asked for “the generous understanding of the press so that ASTRO members and the bereaved family can beautifully send off the deceased on his final journey.”
Previously on the afternoon of April 19th, Moonbin was found dead at his home. Upon hearing the news, ASTRO member Cha Eun Woo immediately returned from his personal schedule in the United States and visited the funeral hall.
That day, Cha Eun Woo arrived at the airport with his head down, wearing a hat pulled down low and a mask covering his face, at the same time walking quickly.
This appearance has raised concerns about the mental state of Cha Eun Woo among netizens and fans, both in Korea and abroad.
On a Japanese fan’s SNS account, a scene of Cha Eun Woo crying in the past on SBS’s “Master in the House” was posted, raising huge concerns.
In particular, on the February 7th, 2021 episode of “Master in the House”, a scene where Lim Kyo Jin and So Yi Hyun talked about the advantages of marriage, saying, “It’s really nice to have someone on my side,” was captured.
Listening to this, Cha Eun Woo suddenly burst into tears.
At the time, the idol-actor said, “The term ‘someone on my side’ is not an easy one, and it resonated deeply with me. It’s not easy to open up and share not only my worries but all of my inner thoughts with someone.” He then cried with his head down, adding, “I wanted to do it, but I’ve never been able to truly open up.”
In a subsequent interview with The Celeb, Cha Eun Woo recalled his action and admitted, “As I was listening to the conversation, tears came to my eyes without me realizing it. I was surprised and embarrassed”, adding, “I’m not good at opening up, even with close friends or family. I don’t know if it was because of that thought, but something came up and my tears came out.”
Upon seeing the video, netizens are sending supportive messages to Cha Eun Woo. In particular, they said things like, “It seems like Cha Eun Woo was also going through a tough time as a star”, “He looked so bright…”, “Moonbin was also very bright, so I didn’t really pay attention to Cha Eun Woo’s story”, “It must be really hard when the public knows everything about me and even gets criticism and malicious comments”, “Cha Eun Woo, don’t let your heart be weak, stay strong”, “It’s tough.. stay strong”, and so on.
