BTS is nominated for 3 categories at the 65th Grammy Awards, raising expectations from fans and the public alike.
The 65th Grammy Awards will be held at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, USA at 10 AM on February 5th (local time).
The Grammy Awards is the most prestigious global pop music awards ceremony, hosted by the Recording Academy of Arts and Sciences (NARAS) in the United States. Along with the American Music Awards and the Billboard Music Awards, it is considered one of the top 3 American awards ceremonies.
At the 65th Grammy Awards, BTS is nominated in 3 categories, including “Best Music Video”, “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance”, and “Album of the Year”.
Particularly, the title song “Yet To Come” from BTS’s anthology album “Proof” is nominated in the “Best Music Video” category. As of the moment, the MV of “Yet To Come” has accumulated about 170 million views on YouTube.
Meanwhile, Coldplay X BTS’ “My Universe” receives a nomination for the “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance” category. The song, which boasts the collaboration between BTS and the world-renowned band Coldplay, has topped the US Billboard’s “Hot 100” chart, proving immense popularity.
On the other hand, with the latest nominations, BTS has become the first Kpop artist to be nominated for three consecutive years at the Grammy Awards. It is also the first time BTS is nominated in three categories. So far, BTS has yet to secure a win at this award ceremony, even though “Butter”, which was nominated at the 64th Grammys, was ranked first on the Billboard’s “Hot 100” for 10 consecutive weeks.
At the time, BTS said through a live broadcast immediately after the awards ceremony, “We thought that if we received a Grammy award this time, we could repay the fans, but it is regrettable that we did not win.“
Should BTS be able to secure an award at the 65th Grammys, the boy group would achieve a “Grand Slam” at the top 3 American awards ceremonies, seeing that they have previously won at the “American Music Awards” and the “Billboard Music Awards”.
