BTS’s V Revealed As Most Searched K-pop Star By Google Trends

BTS member V became the most searched K-pop star on Google in the first quarter of 2024, certifying his popularity

According to Google Worldwide Trends, BTS’s V recorded the most searches among K-pop stars from January to March 2024 even during his military hiatus. In 2021 and 2022, V was also announced as the most searched star in Asia by Google Trends.

Google Trends is an important objective indicator used to determine popularity based on big data. It is recognized as a credible source for not only corporate marketing but also elections.

At the moment, V is recording the highest number of searches in most countries, including Korea, the US, the UK, Canada, Germany, Japan, Italy, Denmark, Spain, India, Brazil, etc. 

Not only on Google Trends, V also earned outstanding achievements on Instagram. On April 5th, V ranked No.9 in the TOP 1000 Instagram Influencers Worldwide, making him the only Korean artist to enter the Top 10. He’s also the only Asian star to make it to the Top 10 in the US and UK.

In the Top Music Influencers ranking, unveiling the most influential musicians worldwide, V shone by placing No.4, right behind Taylor Swift, Selena Gomez, and Beyoncé.

In addition, V became the K-pop solo artist with the highest number of page views according to ‘Wikipedia Korea Project Popular Page’ in the first quarter of 2024.

After enlisting, V impressed the public by suddenly releasing the song “FRI(END)S” for fans. Even during his military hiatus, his song performed well on charts without special promotional activities. As a result, V ranked No.65 on US Billboard Hot 100, No.13 on the UK’s Official Singles Chart Top 100, and stayed in Top 100 for three consecutive weeks.

V made headlines when he visited the stadium to watch the match of Gangwon FC held in Chuncheon, Gangwon-do on March 31st, proving his popularity and influence.
