BTS’s Jungkook Wows Crowd at US Festival, Teases New Album ‘3D’ Details

BTS Jungkook successfully finished his performance as the headliner at an American festival

On September 24th, BTS Jungkook appeared at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival held at Central Park in New York. With this performance, Jungkook set a significant milestone as the first Korean soloist to headline the ‘Global Citizen Festival.’

Taking the stage, Jungkook sang his solo songs ‘Euphoria’ and ‘Still With You,’ followed ‘Seven’. He continued with a medley performance of BTS’s hits, ‘Permission to Dance,’ ‘Dynamite,’ and ‘Butter,’ heating up the atmosphere at the venue.

Despite the rain during the performance, Jungkook delivered a captivating live performance for about 20 minutes with his refreshing voice. The enthusiastic audience wearing raincoats cheered loudly for Jungkook and sang along. 

Towards the end of the performance, a spoiler video related to Jungkook’s new solo album, scheduled for release in the fourth quarter of 2023, was unveiled. 

The release of Jungkook’s new album, ‘3D’ has been announced. On July 14th, ahead of the release of his digital single ‘Seven,’ Jungkook declared during a live broadcast that he would solidify a different musical direction through his album, “You may have been waiting for an album, and you might be disappointed that it’s a single. Some ARMYs might feel that way. There’s nothing perfectly organized right now, but I’m also preparing an album. For now, I want to start with a single.”

On July 14th, Jungkook released his English solo digital single ‘Seven,’ which dominated various Korean and international music charts, reaching the top spot.

‘Seven’ entered Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 1 as soon as it was released (July 29th). As of the latest chart (as of September 16th), it ranked No. 37 and has maintained a spot in the top ranks for eight consecutive weeks.

In the UK Official Singles Chart, it reached No. 3, competing for the highest debut ranking among Korean soloists. Jungkook also created a global sensation with ‘Seven,’ ranking third on Spotify’s “Most-Streamed Songs of the Summer” list, holding the top spot for seven consecutive weeks on the “Weekly Top Song Global” chart, and being No. 1 for over 50 days on the “Daily Top Song Global” chart.

Jungkook, with his official solo debut song ‘Seven,’ also won the Song of Summer trophy at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards (MTV VMAs) on September 13th.
