BTS’s Jungkook Nominated for ‘Song of Summer’ at the US MTV VMA for the Second Consecutive Year
BTS’s Jungkook has been nominated for the ‘2023 MTV Video Music Awards’
According to the additional list of nominees announced by ‘MTV VMA’ on September 1st (local time) on their official website, Jungkook is nominated in the ‘Song of Summer’ category for his song ‘Seven (feat. Latto).’ Jungkook was nominated for ‘Song of Summer’ for the second consecutive year in this category, following his collaboration with Charlie Puth on the song ‘Left and Right (Feat. Jung Kook of BTS)’ last year, becoming the first Korean solo artist to achieve this honor.
Jungkook’s ‘Seven,’ released in July, continues to enjoy global chart success and popularity. The song recently climbed two spots to reach the 24th position on the latest ‘Top 100’ chart published by the UK Official Charts, maintaining its presence on the chart for seven consecutive weeks. ‘Seven’ also held the top spot for seven consecutive weeks on Spotify’s ‘Weekly Top Song Global’ as of August 31st and maintained its position at number one on ‘Daily Top Song Global’ for 48 days.
The ‘MTV VMA’ will be held on the 12th of next month at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, USA, and will be broadcast through the American TV channel MTV.
