BTS’s Jimin topped US & Japan’s YouTube and TikTok search rankings in the first half of 2023

BTS member Jimin once again proved his extraordinary global popularity by becoming the most searched K-pop male idol on YouTube in the US in the first half of 2023.

Releasing his first solo album “FACE” on March 24th, Jimin received favorable responses from the public and gained impressive achievements on global music charts. As a result, Jimin naturally topped the search rankings from February to April.

Jimin also certified his huge fandom in Japan by ranking 1st among ‘20 Most Searched K-pop Boy Group Members’ on YouTube Japan since January 2023. With steady love from Japanese fans, Jimin set the record as the first Korean solo artist to enter the Oricon chart and received Platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ).

In addition, Jimin’s “Like Crazy” ranked No.1 among the 10 Most Popular Boy Group Songs on TikTok Until August 2023 with 797.2 million views. “VIBE”, his collaboration song with Taeyang, also placed 8th among the Top 10 with 291.5 million views.

Since YouTube is contributing greatly to the globalization of K-pop, K-pop fans around the world are searching for their favorite idols directly on the site to show support to them. As such, Jimin swept the top spot on YouTube search rankings in the two major music markets US and Japan with his solo promotions. He also confirmed his tremendous global impact on the TikTok platform as a representative K-pop artist.
