BTS’s Jimin and Jungkook Went To A Cold And Tough Front To Be Together+Will Meet Jin As Trainees

BTS’s Jimin and Jungkook joined the Korean army’s 5th Infantry Division boot camp

Jimin and Jungkook will undergo basic military training for five weeks from December 12. They will then be deployed to the army as active duty soldiers. The two also shared images of their new short haircut on BTS’s social media account.

The Army’s 5th Infantry Division boot camp is located in Yeoncheon, Gyeonggi Province. Jimin and Jungkook were assigned here because they were “joint enlisted.”

Joint enlistment is a system that allows soldiers to join the military with close friends, brothers, relatives and colleagues, receive training together, and be assigned to the same unit of living area to serve until they are discharged from the military. The system is designed to help them adjust to the military life quickly, and to encourage them to serve in the military.

It is known that soldiers in this system usually go to the ‘front line’ when they enlist together. Technically, the service area is not necessarily the front line. The accompanying enlistment troops will be assigned to units in the Gyeonggi and Gangwon areas. Since most of the units in Gyeonggi and Gangwon areas are located in the front, they usually go to the front. Therefore, Jimin and Jungkook will also be assigned their own troops within Gyeonggi and Gangwon areas after basic military training.

Jimin and Jungkook will be assigned to the same unit and belong to the same division. If the same-class dormitory is operated, there is a possibility that they will share the same dormitory. Before joining the army, Jimin said on the fan community Weverse, “I’m very dependent on Jungkook as we enlist together.”

The Army’s 5th Infantry Division boot camp, where Jimin and Jungkook joined, is also where Jin, the eldest member of BTS, is currently serving as an assistant. Attention was also focused on the possibility of the two, as trainees, meeting Jin, an assistant and sergeant. According to a military official, Jin is in charge of teaching at another team, so Jimin and Jungkook might not meet him while receiving training, but they can meet during the weekend. Fans are highly excited to see assistant Jin go to the cafeteria in the military with trainees Jimin and Jungkook.

All seven members of the BTS have now become soldiers. RM and V started their military service the previous day. Prior to this, Jin was the first to join the military in December last year. Since then, j-hope has joined the military in April this year and is currently a corporal. Suga has been serving as a social service worker since September. Jin was also promoted to excellent military solider early.
