BTS’s Agency Takes Legal Action Against False Rumors, “Members Have Never Visited The Controversial Bar”
HYBE announces legal responses to rumors spreading to BTS due to Lee Sun-kyun and G-Dragon’s drug scandals
On October 28th, HYBE released a firm statement through Daily Sports, saying “Rumors associating our artists to a specific place are not true at all”.
The company continued, “BTS members do not know anything about that place and have never visited it”, adding “HYBE is taking civil and criminal legal action against the spread of false information and defamation on the principle that there will be zero tolerance”.
They also gave a warning, saying “Legal actions have already been taken against people who made groundless speculations and false rumors related to our artists, and we will continue proceeding with legal measures to hold those responsible for the spread of false information countable until the end.”
Earlier, a media outlet and YouTube channel claimed that some BTS members visited the hostess bar mentioned in recent celebrities’ drug controversies. In addition to BTS, drug rumors spread to many other celebrities as several names have been called out. In the end, BTS’s fandom ARMY demanded the agency take strict legal action.
