According to the former trainee, who recently came forward more than a year after completing his own service, BTS’s V left a lasting impression on those around him during basic training and throughout his time in the military.
The story gained attention after V reminisced about his military days during a recent Weverse live broadcast with his fellow BTS members.
During the livestream, V recalled attending a Catholic mass with fellow trainees, where a trainee was asked about his baptismal name. Instead of giving a traditional answer, the trainee humorously responded by naming popular League of Legends characters, saying, “I like Mordekaiser, Miss Fortune, and Lux,” drawing laughter from everyone present.

Following the broadcast, one of V’s former training camp comrades revealed additional behind-the-scenes stories from that period.
The former trainee explained that news of two BTS members enlisting had become a major topic of conversation at the time and that he happened to be assigned to the same platoon as V.
He recalled V treating fellow trainees to premium Korean beef as a gesture of appreciation for their hard work, earning admiration from those around him.
The comrade also shared memories of attending a Christmas church musical with V during training. After the performance, many attendees hoped to greet the BTS star. According to the witness, V initially kept a low profile and quietly bowed his head while leaving, but he eventually waved to the crowd, prompting enthusiastic cheers.

The former comrade spoke highly of V’s character, particularly his role as a platoon leader during training.
Describing the singer as someone who naturally brought people together, he said V was “kind, positive, and always guided others in the right direction.” He also noted that the BTS member possessed a playful personality while remaining caring and considerate toward everyone around him.
The testimony echoed numerous accounts shared by fellow soldiers throughout V’s military service.
V enlisted on December 11, 2023, and completed his service in the Special Duty Team (SDT) of the Military Police under the Republic of Korea Army’s 2nd Corps after finishing basic training.
Throughout his service, multiple fellow soldiers reportedly praised V for treating both seniors and juniors to meals, donating exercise equipment, and offering emotional support to those around him.
Many described him as someone they could comfortably turn to for advice during difficult times.

Even after his discharge, V continued to demonstrate his loyalty. Reports previously revealed that he returned to his former unit approximately 40 days after leaving the military to celebrate the discharge of a junior soldier he had served with, a gesture that further strengthened his reputation for taking care of those around him.
As these stories continue to surface, fans are once again highlighting V’s humble personality and the positive impact he had on his fellow soldiers during his time in the military.
