The highlight of BTS Suga’s appearances on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” has been belatedly released.
On June 14th, the official YouTube channel of the US talk show “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” uploaded a video of Suga’s interview highlights. The released video drew attention, as it captures Suga’s appearance since he appeared along with other BTS members until he became the sole guest on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” (hereinafter referred to as “The Tonight Show”).
In particular, Suga appeared as a solo guest on “The Tonight Show” on the 1st of May (local time). At that time, the BTS member explained his solo stage name “Agust D”, saying, “My hometown name is Daegu”, so “Daegu town SUGA”, or “D.T Suga”, in reverse forms “Agust D”.
In addition, he delivered the first performance of the title track “Haegeum” from his solo album “D-DAY” on the broadcast. Here, Suga explained the meaning of “Haegeum” by saying that it can mean the traditional Korean musical instrument “haegeum”, or unlocking something that was prohibited.
Following that, Jimmy Fallon shed light on the life of Suga, who was previously known as the “human Min Yoongi.” When asked if he was a food delivery guy in the past, Suga answered positively, and mentioned that he was very good at driving.
Furthermore, photos of Suga’s activities as an ambassador for the NBA (National Basketball Association) were also brought up. At this, Suga caused laughter by joking, “Honestly, isn’t the NBA more famous than me? I don’t know if the NBA needs an ambassador.”

Regarding his stage name, Suga explained that it is a play on words, being a shortened form of the basketball position “shooting guard” (“Shoo-ga”) and revealed his passion for basketball. Then, when asked if he wanted to become a basketball player, he replied that he wasn’t tall enough.
Suga also jokingly said that BTS members probably don’t even know the rules when he was asked to select members that are the best at basketball.
Consistently displaying his witty remarks, Suga’s sharp tongue has once again thrilled fans worldwide through “The Tonight Show.” In his own YouTube content, “Suchwita”, Suga also showcases his hosting skills. Combining his lyrical talent accumulated as a member of BTS and a musician with his eloquence, he receives a positive response.
This year marks the 10th anniversary of BTS’s debut. With the enlistments of members Jin and J-Hope, along with the overlapping hiatus of BTS as a team, it has become a turning point for recharging. Accordingly, Suga’s activities as a guest on “The Tonight Show” and as the host of “Suchwita” helps to draw attention to the male idol’s new facets.
