BTS’ Suga Recalls Facing Many Oppressive Seniors in the Past

On January 15th, a new episode of BTS Suga’s YouTube show “Suchwita,” featuring CNBLUE Jung Yong-hwa’s guest appearance, was released on the YouTube channel ‘BANGTANTV.’

Jung Yong-hwa reminisced, saying, “In 2015, when I released my first solo and felt lonely, BTS was there. Even before that, our members would watch BTS and say, ‘They’re different in some way, right?’ But as our activities overlapped, I became curious about you guys.”

He continued and praised BTS, “So when we met backstage and I asked, ‘What do you do on your days off?’ they answered, ‘We write songs.’ It’s not common for juniors to share such stories. Most of them say things like ‘We don’t get days off from the company.’ So, I thought, ‘These guys will do well; we should become closer.’ At that time, BTS was different.”

Meeting at events like the ‘Idol Athletics Championships’ and becoming close thanks to overlapping activity periods, the two became friends.

Suga recalled, “I’m really grateful to you too. When we went to the broadcasting station, there were often intimidating seniors. ‘Don’t you greet?’ I didn’t like such oppressive conversations.”

Suga added, “But at that time, Yong-hwa said, ‘You guys will do even better.’ Hearing that, I was deeply moved, thinking, ‘There are such good seniors who sincerely support us.'”
