Suga of BTS, who is active under the stage name Agust D, has flaunted his special friendship with pop star Halsey.
On May 18th, American singer-songwriter Halsey posted a picture with BTS Suga on her Instagram. It is known that Halsey appeared as a guest at Suga’s solo concert “SUGA Agust D-DAY TOUR”, which was held in Los Angeles on May 14th.
Regarding the photo, Halsey shared, “Guested at the forum the other night with Agust D and we performed “Suga’s Interlude” for the first time ever live! I’ve shared a stage with my friend many times, but never alone and never like this. When the song ended all we could do was laugh because it was just a feeling of “woah that just happened?!”, after knowing each other for 7 years.”
The singer-songwriter also referred to Suga as her “twin”, explaining, “I call Suga ‘twin’ for a lot of reasons. We have the same smile, we have a lot of shared interests, sometimes we even have the same haircut. But I mostly say it because we seem strangely (and sometimes wordlessly) connected on a creative wavelength. Watching him perform his solo concert was an incredible experience.”
Finally, Halsey did not hold back her praise for Suga and said, “He is a true artist, which I’ve always known. But seeing the energy, versatility, creativity, and courageous darkness of the show blew me away. Moments like these remind me why we are so fortunate to have this way of expressing ourselves. I am so grateful! Thanks to twin for having me and thank you ARMY for, as always, singing your hearts out and making me feel right at home.”
Meanwhile, Suga, who saw the post, playfully responded, “Twin? I’m a year older than you”. To this, Halsey replied, “omg how rude of me to not respect my elders. sorry old man, ur right”, showing a playful energy like bickering siblings.
On the other hand, Halsey and Suga first met at the Billboard Music Awards in 2017. Their friendship grew closer when Halsey participated in the feature of “Boy With Luv” in 2019. Besides appearing in the music video, Halsey has also performed on stage with BTS. BTS also celebrated Halsey’s first childbirth, maintaining a long-standing friendship.
