BTS, Seventeen, NCT 127, NewJeans nominated “Candidates in 4 categories for ‘2024 USA’ revealed”
Top-tier artists representing K-pop compete for the "2024 USA" grand prize trophy
Hosted by the global standard K-pop charts “KM Chart” and “doohub” and organized by the Korea Management Federation Corporation, the “2024 Universal Superstar Awards (hereinafter “2024 USA”)” unveiled the nominees for four categories: Universal Super Star, Universal Super Artist, Universal Super Music Album and Universal Super Soundtrack.
In the Universal Super Star category, a total of 11 teams, including (G)I-DLE, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, NewJeans, BTS, Seventeen, Stray Kids, IVE, aespa, BLACKPINK and LE SSERAFIM, have been nominated as final contenders.
For the Universal Super Artist category, a total of 12 nominees have been selected, including V (BTS), Jungkook (BTS), RM (BTS), Suga (BTS), Jin (BTS), J-Hope (BTS), Jimin (BTS), Jennie (BLACKPINK), Jisoo (BLACKPINK), Lim Young-woong, Taeyeon and IU.
In the Universal Super Music Album category, albums from ten teams including SEVENTEEN’s “FML”, Stray Kids’ “★★★★★ (5-STAR)”, TXT’s “The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION”, Jungkook’s “GOLDEN”, NCT 127’s “Fact Check – The 5th Album”, ZEROBASEONE’s “YOUTH IN THE SHADE”, ENHYPEN’s “DARK BLOOD”, NCT DREAM’s “ISTJ – The 3rd Album”, IVE’s “I’ve IVE” and NewJeans’ “2nd EP Get Up” have been nominated.
In the Universal Super Soundtrack category, a total of 13 teams (solo singers)’ songs, including (G)I-DLE’s “Queencard”, aespa’s “Spicy”, Agust D’s “People Pt.2”, NCT DREAM’s “Candy”, RM’s “Wild Flower”, NewJeans’ “Super Shy”, LE SSERAFIM’s “ANTIFRAGILE”, V’s “Slow Dancing”, Jennie’s “You & Me”, IVE’s “I AM”, Jungkook’s “Seven”, NCT 127’s “Fact Check” and Jimin’s “Like Crazy” will vie for the top spot.
Except for categories where winners are determined by fan votes, all awards at the “2024 USA” will be judged based on KM Chart’s metadata. Detailed information on all award categories can be found on the KM Chart USA official website.
The Universal Superstar Awards is the most fan-friendly ceremony newly launched to encourage artists and fans who shone in the music industry over the past year. The “2024 USA” will feature a special stage where artists who have been active in various music genres such as K-pop, trot, ballad and hip-hop in 2023 will showcase their talents.
The “2024 USA” will take place on March 27th at 7:00 PM at Kyung Hee University Grand Peace Palace in Seoul and will be broadcasted through MBC M and Wavve from 9:00 PM on the same day. Detailed information on the artist lineup and ticket reservations will be gradually released.
