According to a “Now & Survey” survey, Girls’ Generation got 9.8% while BTS is the most popular among women in their 40s to 60s with 57.1%.

The groups that received more than 5% of responses from all age groups to this question are ” BTS (37.2%), “BLACKPINK (20.2%), and “Girls’ Generation (9.8%).”
Elim.net Now & Survey recently conducted a survey to understand Koreans’ opinions on K-pop idol groups that are receiving global attention. The survey period was from June 22th to June 28th, 2022, and the respondents are 1,052 members of the Now & Survey national panel.
Popular K-pop idol group candidates (examples) for the question were BDC, NCT, SMTOWN, Lightsum, Red Velvet, LE SSERAFIM, Monsta X, BTS, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, Girls’ Generation, Stray Kids, IVE, aespa, NMIXX, Omega X, CLASS:y, Tempest, Fromis_9, TXT, etc.
■ BTS is loved by 57.1% of women in their 40s to 60s, while BLACKPINK receives the vote from 25,2% of men in 10s to 30s and men in 40s to 60s.
BTS’s popularity ranking by population group was the highest with 57.1% of women in their 40s to 60s. It was followed by 35.1% of men in their 40s to 60s, 34.2% of women in their 10s to 30s, and 21.4% of men in their 10s to 30s.
BLACKPINK’s popularity ranking by population group recorded the highest at 25.2% of men in their 10s to 30s and of men in their 40s to 60s, followed by 14.3% in the female 10s-30s generation and 13.8% in the female 40s-60s generation.
Girls’ Generation’s popularity ranking by population group got the highest with 14.2% among men in their 40s to 60s, followed by 9.3% from women in their 10s to 30s, 6.7% among men in their 10s to 30s, and 6.3% among women in their 40s to 60s.
■ Should the military service exemption be applied to popular culture and arts personnel? “No”, 46.4% – “Yes”, 45.2%
As a result of the question, “Do you think the government should apply military service exemptions equally to popular artists and sports athletes?” the answers are “No (46.4%),” “Yes (45.2%)” and “I’m not interested (8.4%)”.
When asked, “What is your opinion on the K-POP group training system of entertainment agencies that are known for strict privacy control and high-intensity training?” they chose “It is a system that weakens individual maturity and individuality, so it must be improved (55.3%).”
It was then followed by “It is a system verified by K-POP success, so the current style should be maintained (35.6%)” and “I am not interested (9.1%).”
The total number of respondents to this survey was 1052 with 575 men and 477 women from all panel members of Now & Survey, with a 95% confidence level and a sampling error of ±3.02 percentage points.
