World-famous Kpop boy group BTS received nominations for 4 categories at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, held in the US.
On July 26th (local time), the 2022 MTV Video Music Award (2022 MTV VMA) announced the nominees for various categories via its official website and SNS. According to the announcement, BTS is nominated for “Best Kpop”, “Best Choreography”, “Best Visual Effects”, and “Best Metaverse Performance”.
Among these, BTS has been nominated for “Best K-Pop” and “Best Choreography” for 4 consecutive years. Meanwhile, the 2022 MTV VMA did not announce the nominees for the “Group of the Year” and “Song of Summer” awards.
BTS was nominated for “Best Kpop” with their title song “Yet To Come” (The Most Beautiful Moment) from their latest album “Proof”, which was released on June 10th. Meanwhile, for “Best Choreography”, “Permission to Dance” which was released in July 2021, will be up against prominent global musicians. Finally, “My Universe”, which was released in September 2021 in collaboration with Coldplay, will compete in the “Best Visual Effect” category.
BTS’s first nomination at the MTV VMA was back in 2019, and ever since, the group never fails to appear in various nominations.
The 2022 MTV Video Music Award will be held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, USA, on August 28th, and will be broadcast live through music channel MTV.
